FAQs

  • What kind of therapy do you offer?

I use a blend of approaches including:

    • Satir Model of Family Therapy
    • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
    • Solution-Focused Therapy
    • Client-Centred Approach

Each session is tailored to your unique needs and preferences.

  • How long does therapy last?

Sessions typically last 50 minutes. Some clients benefit from just a few sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. We’ll work together to find what suits you best.

  • What are your fees?

Fees vary depending on the type of service. I’ll provide clear information upfront, and we can discuss payment options that work for you.

  • Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of counselling. I follow strict ethical guidelines to ensure your privacy and safety.

  • Do you work with couples or families?

Absolutely. I offer therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges or family dynamics, I’m here to help.

  • What is Pastel Nagomi Art and how is it used?

Pastel Nagomi Art is a gentle, expressive method that promotes emotional healing through creativity. It’s especially helpful for clients who find it easier to express feelings through art rather than words.

  • How do I know if I need therapy?

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not yourself, therapy might be a helpful step. You don’t need to wait for a crisis—therapy is for anyone who wants to explore their thoughts, emotions, or life experiences more deeply.

At Let Go Counselling, I’m here to help you explore and experience whatever you're going through, however big or small. All struggles are equally valid. Life is messy and complicated, and we all respond to stress in our own unique ways. I’ll listen to your story without judgment and help you make sense of whatever is troubling you.

Therapy isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating space to ask the right questions, feel supported, and discover new ways forward.

  • I find it difficult to talk about things. Will this be a problem?

Not at all. Many people feel unsure or uncomfortable about opening up—especially if they’ve been holding onto something for a long time. At Let Go Counselling, I work hard to build a supportive therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, understood, and validated.

We’ll take things at your pace. I’ll never rush you or push you to share more than you’re ready for. Therapy is a space where you can simply be yourself, even if that means sitting quietly or expressing things in non-verbal ways.

I’m trained in evidence-based creative approaches that can help you explore your feelings in ways that feel less intense. This might include guided visualizations, working with metaphors, images, or stories. But I’ll always respect your boundaries—you’ll never be asked to do anything you’re not comfortable with.

  • What’s the difference between a counsellor and a psychotherapist?

Counselling and psychotherapy are terms often used interchangeably. According to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), both refer to:

“A specialised way of listening, responding and building relationships based on therapeutic theory and expertise that is used to help clients enhance their wellbeing.” (BACP, 2022)

Currently, the titles “counsellor” and “psychotherapist” are not protected by law in the UK, meaning anyone can use them regardless of their training. That’s why it’s more important to look at a therapist’s qualifications and professional memberships than their title alone.

I hold a Master of Social Science in Counselling (MSSC) from the City University of Hong Kong and a Master in Christian Marriage and Family Therapy (MCMFT) from Bethel Seminary Hong Kong. I’m also a registered member of the MBACP, actively working toward accreditation.

When choosing a therapist, trust your instincts—and feel free to ask about their training, approach, and experience. I’m always happy to answer questions and help you feel confident in your decision.
